Quick and Easy Tips to Strum the Acoustic Guitar Correctly



Guitar strumming is another way of how you can play guitar. It may be seen to be easy but there are some tips on doing that. This article gives you some quick and easy tips to strum the acoustic guitar correctly.

- When you are strumming the acoustic guitar, you will have to strum over the sound hole of it.
- Press on the guitar neck firmly. The best position is right above the fret. This will assure that the sound you get from the strumming is right and clear.
- When you strum guitar up and down, make sure that the volume of both strums are equal.
- To avoid the strings rattle or avoid getting undesirable sound, do not strum too hard.
- Do not strum to soft either. The sound you get will not be good enough to perform. You will not be able to distinguish if you are playing right or not.
- When you strum, make sure that you strike the strings with the firm and even stroke.
- Imagine that your elbow is the top of the pendulum. Swing your up and down in a steady motion. Do not pause. And you will get the right rhythm from your strumming.
- The motion will mostly come from the rotation of your wrist, not from the forearm. Make sure that you avoid the wrist stiff when you play.

With all the above tips, you can then start to strum the instrument correct. Remember that you will practice playing it everyday in order to be able to progress in your playing.
